Concrete driveway problems — heaving, significant cracking, or a section that's settled — almost always trace back to what's happening underneath the slab, not a flaw in the concrete itself. Real repair means addressing the base, not just patching the surface.
What's included
- Diagnosing whether the problem is base settling, soil movement, or a drainage issue undermining the slab
- Cutting out and removing the affected section
- Correcting the underlying base issue — recompacting, improving drainage, or addressing soil movement before repouring
- Repouring and finishing the repaired section to match the existing driveway as closely as possible
Why surface patches don't hold
A crack filler or resurfacing over a section that's settling from a base problem is a temporary fix at best — the underlying cause is still there, and the repair fails again once the same soil movement or drainage issue continues. We diagnose the actual cause before recommending a repair scope.
Common causes we see in this area
Poorly compacted base soil from the original installation, water infiltrating under the slab due to inadequate drainage or grading, and clay soil movement with seasonal moisture changes are the most common root causes of driveway settling and cracking around here.

Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper to patch a crack or fully repair the section?
Patching is cheaper short-term but doesn't address the underlying cause if it's a base or drainage issue — it often needs to be redone. A proper repair addressing the base tends to last.
How do you know if it's a base problem versus normal concrete cracking?
Significant heaving, a section noticeably lower than the surrounding driveway, or cracks that keep widening are signs of a base issue rather than typical surface cracking, which is usually cosmetic.
Can you match new concrete to an old driveway?
We do our best to match finish and color, but some visible difference between old and new concrete is normal — full replacement is the only way to guarantee a completely uniform appearance.
