Rock Solid Excavation handles industrial and commercial snow removal so your business keeps running when the weather doesn't cooperate. We plow lots, clear dock approaches, haul off piles, and salt for trucks and foot traffic. Michigan winters don't quit — freeze, thaw, repeat — so we're on call through storms with seasonal contracts or per-storm service, whichever fits how you operate.

What We Handle

A commercial site has more to clear than a driveway. Trucks need room to maneuver, docks need clean approaches, and people need safe footing from the lot to the door. We plan each site so the plowing, hauling, and salting actually keep the operation moving.

Around here, a storm isn't one and done. Lake-effect bands, refreezing slush, and back-to-back systems mean a lot can clear and ice over the same day. Freeze, thaw, repeat — built to take it. That's why we don't just push snow once and leave. We monitor storms, come back as accumulation demands, salt to fight the refreeze, and haul piles off-site when they start eating into parking or sightlines.

Built for Michigan Winters

Some businesses want a seasonal contract so it's handled all winter with no phone calls. Others prefer to pay per storm. We do both. Either way, John will walk your site before the season to map out plow routes, pile locations, and salting priorities so there are no surprises when the first storm hits. Mapping it out ahead of time means our crews already know your lot when the snow starts, instead of figuring it out in the dark in a whiteout.

A commercial lot has details that are easy to miss until they cause a problem — curbs, islands, drains, dock heights, and the spots where a pile will block parking or sightlines if it ends up in the wrong place. Walking the site before the season lets us sort all of that out in advance: where snow gets pushed, where it gets stacked, and where it has to be hauled off entirely. It also lets us prioritize the areas that matter most to your operation, so trucks can move and people can get from the lot to the door safely from the first storm to the last thaw.

Contracts or Per-Storm

Both. We can set up a seasonal contract so your site is covered all winter, or handle it per storm if that suits your operation better. We'll talk through which makes sense for your lot during the pre-season walk-through.

Yes. Dock and loading approaches are part of what we clear, and we prioritize them so shipping and receiving keep moving. We can also haul piles off-site so they don't block dock access as the season builds up.

Why a Plan Matters Before Winter

We haul snow off-site when piles start cutting into parking, blocking sightlines, or refreezing into hazards. That's part of keeping a commercial lot usable through a long Michigan winter.

Frequently asked questions

Do you serve my area?

We work out of Fenton across Genesee, Oakland, Livingston, and Washtenaw counties. If you're near the edge, ask.

Are estimates free?

Yes — free on-site estimates, residential and commercial.

Are you licensed and insured?

Fully licensed and insured for residential and commercial site work across Southeast Michigan.

How does Michigan freeze-thaw affect this work?

It's the single biggest factor. Water that gets under or behind a structure and freezes is what moves it. Base prep and drainage are where the job is won or lost.
